Conference of Atlantic Medical Students 2026
Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick is thrilled to be hosting the Conference of Atlantic Medical Students (CoAMS) from May 1st to May 3rd, 2026.
We are accepting abstracts for oral and poster presentations until 11:59 PM on March 1st!
Thriving in Practice: Building Systems That Support Us All
The 2026 CoAMS theme reflects the unique realities of practicing medicine in Saint John and the Maritimes, where close-knit communities, limited resources, and geographic distance demand systems that are grounded in connection, resilience, and local innovation. This conference invites learners and clinicians to explore what thriving in the Atlantic context truly means, spanning from system-level design to individual wellbeing and day-to-day clinical practice, so that no one is left carrying the load alone.

CoAMS 2022
Theme: Shifting Paradigms
With the recent turn to a new decade, medical students are challenged to learn and unlearn ideas, biases, norms, and treatments across vast topics that make up our medical education. Shifting Paradigms seeks to address social inequities, innovation, and intra-professional reflection within medicine.
Our Mission
CoAMS will be hosted by Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB) in May 2026. As future healthcare leaders, medical students have a unique opportunity to play a vital role in creating more inclusive, supportive, and resilient communities. By exploring topics such as social determinants of health, equity, and the role of healthcare in community development, this conference aims to inspire collaboration and action toward building a healthier, more unified society for all.
